Description:

cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco is a mineral-filled, easily pourable, two-component reaction resin based on epoxy and is used for the frictionally locked filling of the cavity between the shallow base for underfloor lighting and the core drilling. cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco is characterised by a high bio-based content, i.e. parts of the fossil-based carbon have been replaced by a bio-based carbon content.

Application:

cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco is used to grout shallow bases for runway underfloor lighting AGL (Airfield Ground Lighting) in concrete and asphalt surfaces on runways. cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco depending on the selected hardener variant, it can be used at both low and high ambient temperatures. Installation in concrete is carried out as a complete grouting up to the upper edge of the concrete surface with cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco. Installation in asphalt is carried out using cds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco at -3.0 cm below the upper edge of the asphalt runway surface. The final grouting on the upper edge of the asphalt runway surface must be filled with flexible material (e.g. with cds-AGL SlotRestore flex eco).

Mixing:

The base component (A) and hardener component (B) are packaged in precisely measured mixing ratios. If component A has developed a hard sediment due to prolonged storage, this must be loosened with a trowel before stirring. Component A (without hardener) must be stirred until free of lumps. An electric hand mixer is recommended for stirring and mixing, e.g. a slow-running drill (300-400 rpm) with a mixing basket attached. When mixing, scrape the sides and bottom of the container several times. Mix for approx. 2- 3 minutes until the material is homogeneous and visibly free of streaks. Then pour into a clean container and mix again.

Processing:

  • After mixing, immediately pour the material into the cavity between the shallow base for the
underfloor lighting and the bore hole.
  • Installation in concrete is carried out as a complete grouting up to the upper edge of the concrete
surface with eds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco.
  • The asphalt is poured using eds-AGL BaseGrout UW eco -3.0 cm below the top edge of the asphalt
runway surface. The final grouting on the upper edge of the asphalt runway surface must be filled
with flexible material (e.g. with eds-AGL SlotRestore flex eco).
  • Alternatively, the shallow base can be installed for embedding and adjustment in a mortar bed using
    eds-AGL BeddingMortar.

Cleaning:

Tools should be cleaned immediately after the end of the work or before extended interruption of the work using cds-EP-Thinner/Cleaner. Material components and cleaner must not be allowed to enter the drainage system, water or groundwater, but must be disposed of properly.

VOC content labelling, EU Regulation 2004/42 (Decopaint Directive):

  • Cat All/j/sb, EU limit value 500 g/l (2010): cds-AGL Base-Grout UW eco contains <500 g/i VOC.
  • Giscode: RE 55

ADR class:

  • Base component (A): None
  • Hardener (B) S, FH: Class 8, III

Danger warnings:

Avoid skin contact, especially with the hardener component. If splashes get into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately .
Please observe the general safety regulations of the employers’ liability insurance associati on, in particular the instructions for use ‘Epoxy resins in the construction industry’ (www.arbeitssicherheit.de), as well as the hazard warnings and safety advice in the safety data sheets and on the delivery containers. The containers must be stored in a child-proof manner and children must be kept away during processing.
After curing, the product is physiologically harmless.
Product residues can be disposed of with household waste after curing. Uncleaned packaging and liquid components must be disposed of in accordance with official regulations (see information in the safety data sheet). Cured product residues can be recycled in a suitable waste incineration plant under waste code number 20 03 01 ‘Mixed municipal waste’.
